The salary range represents the earning potential for this position, through training, evaluations and years spent working in this position with CCS.

About the Pullman Center Manager

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Pullman Center for Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC), the Pullman Center Manager is a team leader responsible for student success and program operations. This position manages the day-to-day operations of Pullman Center programs and services including testing and proctoring. They also conduct outreach and manage commencement and alumni relations.

The Pullman Center Manager oversees student recruitment, retention and progression efforts, working with community organizations and area high schools to promote programs and build relationships for the Center. This position is a liaison between the Pullman Center, SFCC and SCC campuses, CCS district offices and Washington State University (WSU).

Duties & Responsibilities

Outreach & Recruitment

  • Serve as the primary CCS recruitment and admissions representative for the Pullman Center. Independently lead outreach to Whitman Co high schools, K-12 counselors and teachers, homeschooling, and college prep organizations across the Idaho border through school and community events, in-person and online info sessions, and print and digital promotion. *
  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with school districts, community organizations, and other stakeholders. *
  • Coordinate with CCS Marketing to promote Pullman Center services and programs to communities across the Palouse including hosting individual and group visits at the Pullman Center and participating in community events. *

Student Retention & Progression

  • Provide the primary retention communications for Running Start (RS) students at the Pullman Center from inquiry through the entire student life cycle. *         
  • Manage New Student Orientation, RS student Canvas, and other SFCC student retention processes. *
  • Serve as the liaison for Pullman’s Concurrent Enrollment programs and collaborate with high school counselors on RS student credit eligibility, costs and progress toward program completion. Advise and connect low-income RS students with services and scholarship support. *

Testing & Proctoring

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating Pullman Testing Center policies, procedures, programs and services ensuring student success and compliance with district policies and applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. *
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Pullman Testing Center which includes assessment, proctored testing and coordination of New Student Orientations ensuring smooth operations and coordination with SFCC Testing Center. *
  • Ensure placement tests are maintained using current specifications. *
  • Responsible for the maintenance of manual and electronic filing systems. Ensure accuracy of data input into electronic database systems and generate reports as required. *

Commencement & Alumni Relations

  • Chair Pullman's annual graduation planning and operation. *
  • Coordinate Pullman Center efforts and services with SFCC Student Government Office. *
  • Coordinate outreach to Pullman alumni. *

Student Services Supervision & Development

  • Supervise classified, part-time hourly and work-study employees (train, schedule, evaluate, discipline and respond to grievances). Adhere to classified contracts and all district rules and regulations ensuring efficient operations of Pullman Center, office reception and peer tutoring. *
  • Inform and educate staff about behavior and performance expectations, provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance, and ensure performance and behavioral problems are corrected promptly and effectively. *
  • Serve as subject matter expert for ctcLink (PeopleSoft), customer relationship management (CRM) software, IT Polycom and SARS (Scheduling and Reporting System). Train colleagues and act as the CRM power user for Pullman Center. Primary Pullman liaison with CCS Spokane for student records systems. *
  • Primary Pullman liaison with SFCC Disability Access Services for local information and policy dissemination and operations. *

Operations & Systems

  • Primary Pullman liaison with CCS Spokane for IT, including ITV and Polycom systems, and telephone. Monitor and maintain technology systems, phone systems, hardware and accessory equipment for instruction and student services. *
  • Cooperate with the Assistant Dean to secure and evaluate WSU’s facilities maintenance, repair, and custodial services at the Pullman Center. *
  • Coordinate and document quarterly and annual safety inspections and maintain protocols. *

Other Duties & Responsibilities

    Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements. *
  • Support and advance the CCS strategic plan, and perform other duties as assigned. *

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education, social science or a related field from an accredited institution. Or an equivalent mix of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position.
  • Demonstrated communication capacity to serve internal and external customers and stakeholders, including underserved individuals and communities, and young adults.
  • Professional success in developing and delivering services independently and collaboratively within a large and multi-layered institution and with external partners.
  • Experience working independently with complex records and data systems to monitor, evaluate, and deliver services.

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional experience in higher education, especially at a community college, in career technical education, K-12 education, or at a social service agency.
  • Demonstrated commitment and contributions to equitable workplace practices, operations, and services.
  • Experience promoting and marketing programs and services within a large brand, especially a university or social service organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in an office environment with constant interruptions and background noise.

Conditions of Employment

  • Contract 12-month position.
  • This position is overtime eligible.
  • Requires local or regional travel.
  • Criminal background check is required.

Person hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States. This is an absolute condition of employment. Benefits Information

This is a contracted, exempt management position. Medical, dental life and long term disability insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under the Public Employees Benefits Board; TIAA-Cref retirement plan or WA State Retirement Plan. Vacation leave accrues at the rate of 14.67 hours per month (22 days per year) and sick leave accrues at the rate of 8 hours per month, effective upon employment. (For positions that are less than full time, leave accruals will be prorated to the percentage of the position.)
